About Roots to Rise LLC
With twenty years of experience in diagnosing and treating mental health concerns, I believe that building a trusting therapeutic relationship is pivotal for change and that there are multiple pathways to healing. As such, I individualize my therapy approach to meet your needs using a variety of evidence-based techniques. Specifically, I am trained in EMDR and have used it consistently in my practice for 13 years. I am a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and am skilled in vinyasa and yin yoga styles. In addition, I completed a 30 hour trauma-informed yoga training and work to integrate body-based strategies with more traditional approaches, as requested. Common concerns that I treat are: PTSD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, attachment difficulties, abuse, grief/loss, stressful life transitions, and relational hardships. I accept the following insurances: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Hennepin Health, Medical Assistance, MA-Blue Plus, Preferred One, and UCare. Private pay accepted.
In August 2020, Rosie relocated from the streets of Arkansas to begin her training as a therapy dog. Rosie has adjusted well to life in Minnesota and continues to train to be a calming, affectionate presence in the therapy office. She enjoys offering a cameo appearance during Monica's telehealth sessions, appreciates snacks and ear scratches, and is excited for the time when she is ready to join in-person appointments.
